“Year of Health” by Rebel Wilson was a tremendous hit. The actress from Pitch Perfect lost approximately 80 pounds and reached her goal weight. But, perhaps, more importantly, she appears to be happy with her new way of life.
A short glance at her Instagram shows that she’s been filming Senior Year for Netflix, hosting the BAFTAs, travelling extensively, and displaying her physique “shamelessly” on Instagram, as she told People.
The 42-year-old actress has been open about her weight-loss struggles, but how did she succeed? Everything you need to know is right here.
Rebel Wilson’s Weight Loss Journey:
Rebel Wilson declared 2020 her “year of health,” telling her fans that she will prioritise fitness and work toward her goal weight of 165 pounds. She’s been achieving this through a combination of exercise and a well-balanced diet.
Rebel first revealed her plans on her Instagram account in January 2020. She started by simply increasing her walking and eating more healthily. “I changed into my athleisure and went for a walk,” she explained. “Right now, I’m hydrating on the couch and trying to stay away from sweets and junk food, which will be challenging after the holidays, but I’m going to do it!”
“Thanks for all the love thus far on my ‘Year of Health’ journey—when I went for the candies last night after dinner, I thought to myself, ‘hmmm…better not,’ and instead drank a bottle of water,” she wrote in an update at the end of August.
Rebel shared a photo of herself showing off her progress and a lovely view during a hike on Instagram, revealing that she was three kilogrammes (roughly six pounds) away from her goal weight. (Her trainer, by the way, is a firm believer in progress shots, but more on that later.
Rebel Wilson Prior to Her Weight Loss:
Prior to her healthy weight loss journey, Rebel was booked and engaged with a number of jobs. After starring in the Oscar-nominated comedy Bridesmaids in 2011, the actress rose to popularity. Rebel played a little supporting role in the film, but she had a significant impact on the audience. When Rebel was cast as Fat Amy in the film Pitch Perfect in 2012, her fame had reached new heights. She would appear in the film’s sequel and third sequels.
Rebel went on to obtain major roles that allowed her to show off her humorous ability. She is most known for her parts in the films How To Be Single, The Hustle, and Isn’t It Romantic. As her fame grew, Rebel’s focus switched from physical humour to a more serious approach to her health and profession. In 2020, Rebel began documenting her workouts, visits to Australia and Los Angeles, weight loss goals, and much more, as she opened up and shared a brand new, honest side of herself with her admirers. Rebel needed to take a step back and concentrate on her physical and mental changes.
So, how Does Rebel Exercise?
Rebel has been working out with trainer Jono Castano seven days a week. (She means business when she says she’ll work hard.) Tire flipping is a new difficult manoeuvre that the actress has added to her show.
Rebel Wilson’s Weight Loss Transformation:
Rebel saw a dramatic shift in how others treated her after she started losing weight. “It’s been incredibly intriguing to see how other people regard you,” says the narrator. On January 27, the actress said on the Australian radio show The Morning Team with Hughesy, Ed, and Erin. “People didn’t always look twice at you because you were bigger,” Rebel added. “People offer to take my groceries to the car and hold doors open for you now that I’m in better shape.”
