Jackson’s family was completely caught away when he was diagnosed with diabetes. He underwent weight loss surgery in 2003 and shed 100 pounds. The ex-musician had to make further modifications now that his weight had returned to normal.

Before being diagnosed with diabetes, Jackson walked 30 minutes a week as a form of exercise. He raised the intensity of his workouts after consulting with his doctor.

To begin, Jackson told Health that he needed to pick an activity in which he felt at ease. To ensure that he gets adequate exercise, he keeps a treadmill next to his bed. At first, it looks to be saying, “Come here.” It is gazing at me, and I am not pleased. “It’s all worth it,” he adds, despite the discomfort. He now walks for 35 to 45 minutes on the treadmill every day because “you know you need it,” he tells WebMD.
