Is Peacock Free: How Much Does Peacock Cost Deals or Discounts to Get Peacock’s Premium Tiers Free?

In order to access all of Peacock’s content, including Firestarter, which premiered in theatres on Friday, you must purchase a subscription to the streaming service.

There are tens of thousands of free hours of programmes on Peacock TV, which is NBCUniversal’s US streaming service. You may watch Yellowstone, a cowboy drama, as well as Premier League games, WWE, The Office, and much of Peacock’s original programming, only if you’re a paid Peacock member. To watch Jurassic World: Dominion on Peacock TV, you’ll need a premium subscription, which won’t be available until later.

If you want to watch any of those, you’ll typically have to shell up $5 or $10 every month. It’s possible to save money at these prices; see the offers section below.

Tech and media titans released an onslaught of new streaming services in the last two years, including Peacock. Competitors include other new services like Disney+ and Apple+, as well as established services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Hulu, which have been around for a long time.

Peacock, on the other hand, is the only one of these competitors to provide a free tier. Most new streaming services, like Netflix, are geared at video-on-demand entertainment, including live sports and news.

How Much Does Peacock Cost, and What’s the Deal with The Free Tier?

Is Peacock Free

If you’re looking for an all-inclusive service, you’ll have to pay for it, but you can have it for free if you’re willing to put up with the commercials.

Streaming on the free tier is limited. Peacock, for example, only makes a few of its original episodes available for free, keeping the rest behind a paywall. There is a one-episode limit for free accounts on Yellowstone and The Office. Even though there are many free movies to choose from, you’ll be unable to watch some of the most popular and recent releases unless you pay for an upgrade. Two-thirds of Peacock’s entire library of movies, current season TV, classics, curated daily news and sports, Hispanic programming, and other tailored channels are included on this limited free tier.

Peacock’s live sports coverage is nearly entirely pay-per-view. Those who want to watch NFL Sunday Night Football, any Premier League games or live Olympic coverages will have to pay for the privilege.

It’s essentially an all-access pass to the provider’s whole inventory if you pay for the service. If you want to watch Peacock Premium without ads, it’s $10 per month or $100 per year, but if you want to watch it without ads, it’s $5 per month or $50 per year (this Premium Plus tier is also the only one that lets you download to watch offline).

There should be no more than five minutes of ads every hour in the advertising tiers.

Are There Deals or Discounts to Get Peacock’s Premium Tiers Free?

If you’re already a customer of a particular cable company, you may be eligible for a discount on Peacock. Comcast X1 and Flex customers get $5 off the paid version of Peacock. For those who don’t mind seeing ads, Peacock Premium costs nothing; for those who do, Premium Plus is $5 a month.

The $5 discount is also available to Cox customers. Peacock has stated that it plans to provide this deal to a broader range of customers by partnering with other businesses.

Due to an agreement with Charter Communications, Spectrum video and broadband users will receive an extended free trial of Peacock. A year of free service is available to qualified Spectrum TV customers, and a 90-day free trial is available to qualified Spectrum internet users.

If you already pay for Comcast, Cox, or Spectrum, you can get Peacock Premium for free.

Peacock’s competitors have a wide range of prices.

Hulu is an ad-supported service with a monthly fee of $6 and an ad-free service with a monthly fee of $12. CBS All Access has a free tier and a $10 ad-free version, both of which cost $6 a month.

Netflix, on the other hand, has no commercials and charges $10 a month for its cheapest tier, while its most popular plan costs $15.50. It costs $5 a month to subscribe to Apple TV Plus, $7 a month to subscribe to Disney Plus, and $15 a month to subscribe to HBO Max. Advertising is not a part of any of them (and none of these has live sports to speak of yet, either).

Without advertisements or with, none of these opponents has a free tier as generous as the one provided by Peacock.

What’s up With Wwe on Peacock?

The WWE Network may only be viewed via Peacock at this time.

To coincide with WWE’s inaugural “pay-per-view” event on Peacock in 2021, Peacock began distributing WWE content in early 2021. (Peacock premium customers have access to all WWE pay-per-view events at no additional cost.)

Legacy WWE Network app and service users had to switch to Peacock in order to keep watching. It’s a win-win situation because now Peacock Premium subscribers can get WWE Network for $5, which is half the prior service’s cost. This includes all “pay-per-view” events. As long as you’re willing to shell out $10 every month, you’ll be able to view all of WWE’s programming, with no difference in what you’ll get to see between subscriptions.

There is a WWE page on Peacock where you can find and watch all of Peacock’s WWE content. Furthermore, all upcoming pay-per-view events and current seasons of WWE Original programs are available to subscribers of Peacock’s premium plans (although they are referred to as “pay-per-view” on Peacock).

Additionally, Peacock will provide free access to a new WWE “channel” that will include recent in-ring material, as well as WWE Original series like Miz and Mrs., Total Bellas and Total Divas. A selection of live events, such as RAW Talk and The Bump, will be available on-demand and new episodes will be released every week.

Shows and Movies: What’s Available to Watch on Peacock?

is peacock free

You can get a taste of what’s available on Peacock by browsing the service itself, but you’ll need to register an email address to do so. Third-party sites like Reelgood, which track streaming service catalogues, can also be used to obtain an idea of what’s currently available.

NBCUniversal’s back catalogue and brands are a big part of the service’s content, but there are some nuances.

Peacock is a distributor of content from third parties. Yellowstone, the Paramount Network’s popular cowboy drama, is one example of a deal Peacock has with Paramount.

Live events such as the Summer and Winter Olympics are featured on Peacock. The free tier offered some content from the Olympics in Tokyo and Beijing, but full live coverage of the games necessitated a paid subscription.

Peacock’s free tier includes:

  • Next-day access to current seasons of NBC broadcast shows in their first season, known as freshmen series.
  • Next-week access (i.e., one week after episodes air) to current seasons of returning NBC broadcast shows.
  • Select episodes of marquee Peacock originals (but not full seasons).
  • Curated genre channels, which NBC has characterized as things like SNL Vault, Family Movie Night, and Olympic Profiles.
  • Selections of classic series and popular movies.
  • Curated daily news and sports programming, including the Olympics.
  • Spanish-language content.

With the Premium membership, you basically get an all-access pass. It includes everything on the free tier plus:

  • Full seasons of Peacock originals.
  • Next-day access to current seasons of returning NBC broadcast shows.
  • Early access to NBC’s late-night talk shows. The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon will stream early on Peacock and Late Night with Seth Meyers at 8 p.m. ET — but this perk will begin only when the shows return to in-studio production.
  • Full access to Peacock’s library of shows and movies.

Peacock’s newscasts are sourced from NBC News, Sky News, MSNBC, and CNBC, among other sources. In addition to the live broadcasts of NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt and Meet the Press with Chuck Todd, the service will include live news channels such as Sky News and NBC/Sky Global News, as well as original content from the Meet the Press franchise, investigative documentaries such as full seasons of Dateline and Lock-Up, and library documentaries from, as well as clips from Today, CNBC, MSNBC, and E! News.

Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are just a few of the NBC stars that have created original series for the network. It’s also putting its money where its mouth is when it comes to reboots of shows that have remained popular for a long time. When it comes to reboots, it’s already announced the return of the 1970s sci-fi series Battlestar Galactica, which is itself a reboot of Mr Robot creator Sam Esmail’s Mr. Robot. There was a plan to revive The Office, which was itself based on a British series, according to Deadline.

However, not all of Peacock’s original content is descended from the NBCUniversal clan. Brave New World, for example, is a brand-new project created exclusively for Peacock.
