How to Create an NFT: Step by Step Guide On Creating NFT!
I’ll explain how to establish an NFT for nothing in this tutorial. You can “mint” (make) an NFT more easily than you may imagine, and you can also do it for nothing. Instead of minting generative NFTs or an NFT collection, I’ll be concentrating on developing a single NFT artwork for this tutorial.
NFTs are what, then? These non-fungible tokens have swept the globe, but they aren’t as difficult to understand as you may think. Fundamentally, NFTs are a method of securing a digital file’s uniqueness and proving ownership by registering it on a bitcoin blockchain. We have a comprehensive guide on how to produce and sell an NFT, but in this, article I’ll particularly show you how to do it for free.
NFTs can change the way artists work by allowing them to sell their digital creations, control them, and potentially profit from future sales. In this conversation, Tina Ziegler, an art curator, talks about the World of Women NFTs and International Women’s Day, outlining the significance of NFTs for artists.
While you may mint NFTs on your mobile device, you can also manufacture NFTs on a computer or laptop. The finest NFT apps for iPhone, for instance, let you build an NFT while you’re on the road, monitor the performance of your collection, and follow NFTs across different blockchains. In light of this, some of the free NFT creation instructions below are applicable, but keep in mind that I’m using a desktop browser and Wacom Studio tablet.
How to create an NFT for free: the steps
Creating a Crypto Wallet Account
To register for an account on any NFT marketplace and generate your NFT, you will require a bitcoin wallet. Since Metamask is among the most popular and easily accessible, we’ve decided to use it. There are substitutes, such as the Coinbase wallet.
You will be given a 12-word “seed phrase” when you create your wallet account; this will serve as your special password. The seed phrase serves as your security code, so keep it private and don’t disclose it anywhere (handy if you forget your password).
Making An Account on An NFT Marketplace
Although I’m using Raible for this example, the process is the same for any NFT marketplace. To choose the best NFT marketplace for you, read my guide to them.
Following the instructions, link your Metamask account to your Rarible account after creating our account (adding a user name, photo, bio, etc.). When you link your two accounts, all transactions will be simple to perform and your NFTs will automatically appear in your wallet (you’ll need to go into Metamask’s settings to enable this). My login for Rare is also my Metamask account.
Make your NFT marketplace account more unique by including a banner image and linking to your social network sites. The more time spent making sure your social media accounts are linked, the better; the more time you spend adding specifics to your profile, the more apparent your artwork will be.

Painting Some Art
I swiftly produce a brand-new work of art for this tutorial on how to make an NFT for no cost. I use the painting program Rebelle 5 to quickly draw out some random photo references from the internet. I don’t focus on fine details, just the overall shape, and proportions of the face. (For more information on this outstanding piece of the digital art software, read my Rebelle 5 review.)
Create the art you enjoy making; an NFT can be any digital file; in this case, though, I’ve gone with a digital painting. I prepare to upload the new painting to my brand-new NFT marketplace account and mint it as an NFT after saving it as a jpg.
Uploading your art
It’s time to upload my artwork and start making a free NFT. There are fairly clear instructions for posting your artwork on these NFT marketplace websites like Raible, and the procedure is often the same (some select NFT marketplaces m today want to verify you, and this can take a few days). To proceed, select the Create tab in the top right corner of your account.
You must now select a blockchain. There are four options on Rare, including the newest low-carbon cryptocurrency options Flow, Tezos, and Polygon. (To choose which NFT cryptocurrency is best for you, read our must-read guide to the most popular NFT coins.) I decide to use Ethereum to establish an NFT for nothing.
Choosing Free Minting
The following options assist you in determining the value and type of NFT you are minting. For instance, select Single to mint a single, one-of-a-kind NFT or Multiple to mint a number of NFTs to mint a collection. (For ideas, check out my NFT trends article.) Set the price, give it a name and a description, and turn “On” for Free Minting.
Free minting, also known as lazy minting, allows you to pass the cost of minting onto the customer in order to avoid being charged. To mint an NFT, you are typically required to pay “gas costs” — the price of conducting business on the blockchain. The gas unit is referred to as a “Gwei.” As you are minting, the charge may increase or decrease depending on the volume of traffic on the blockchain; the larger the volume, the more expensive. Late at night or early in the morning is frequently less expensive.
But… If I select Free Minting, there are no fees applied. The drawback of shifting the customer’s gas costs is that you might need to reduce your asking price to account for the additional expense, or you might want to mint your NFT as an auction and let the buyer decide.

The NFT is Minted
When the NFT is minted on Rare, a beautiful explosion of digital confetti occurs. The hard job now starts. It’s best to publish on social media as soon as possible and talk about your new NFT. From within the NFT marketplace, you can instantly connect the new NFT to Twitter, Facebook, and other social networking platforms.
You see, minting an NFT for free is simple, but there are certain things you need to be aware of. The advantage of free minting allows you to easily produce an NFT for free, but it can also have some disadvantages because NFT marketplaces frequently make “regular” NFTs more noticeable. You’ll need to create more of your own social channels as a result to promote yourself. To view how this NFT appears in the real world, search for it on Rarible(opens in a new tab).
How to create an NFT for free: Frequent Questions
What’s a Blockchain?
This is a database that is shared by all of the computer network’s nodes. Each block in the chain contains data, which is continually verified and updated. This makes any blockchain-based assets immutable, ensuring that the data is very difficult to alter or erase. These networks are decentralized, thus there is no involvement from a third party and all information is open for viewing and tracking.
What Gives an NFT value?
An NFT might gain value by being rare or having status. Therefore, an NFT made by well-known artists like Beeple, Damien Hirst, or Takashi Murakami will be highly valued.
However, NFTs are disobeying the laws. NFTs are being differentiated from typical art values by emerging artists in novel ways. Utility and community are important factors. Think of a community-driven NFT like the Bored Ape Yacht Club as a ticket to a club that offers exclusive activities, chat groups, and projects to get part in.
Why is an NFT Jpeg Worth so Much?
The reason why an NFT jpg is worth so much is that the blockchain hash token, not the actual jpeg, is being purchased. The visual “thing” that we can easily comprehend is Crypto Punk art, but the underlying worth of the NFT is its token and the advantages that being on a blockchain may provide. Being invited to elite events in real life is one example of this.
How mucH Does It Cost to Make An NFT?
If you employ lazy minting, it might be free. Standard NFTs’ gas fees for generating and registering on a blockchain can vary greatly, and the fees go up and down as the blockchain is used. The price of a standard NFT can range from $10 (£7) to $200 (£170). We are aware of fees that can total $2,000 or £1,700.
What kinds of NFTs sell the Best?
NFTs that have utility will always sell well as they embrace the full functionality of the blockchain. This is why you will find the below NFTs are some of the most popular.
1. Bored Ape Yacht Club
3. The Sandbox
4. Art Blocks
6. Cool Cats
8. World of Women
