Gigi Hadid Was Arrested in The Cayman Islands for Possessing Weed!
Authorities said that model Gigi Hadid was nabbed in the Cayman Islands last week for allegedly having marijuana on her.
Hadid, whose real name is Jelena Noura Hadid, and her friend, influencer Leah Nicole McCarthy, were both arrested on July 10 for bringing marijuana and drug tools into the Cayman Islands, according to Cayman Islands Customs and Border Control.
The two people were caught after a search of their luggage, which turned up a small amount of marijuana. They had flown to the Cayman Islands from the United States on a private plane.
In a statement to CBS News, a representative for Hadid said that the 28-year-old was flying with marijuana that she had bought legally in New York City with a medical license.
“Grand Cayman has also made it legal for medical use since 2017,” the official said. “Her record is clean, and the rest of her time on the island was fun for her.” The two women were arrested at Owen Roberts International Airport, and a local newspaper, Cayman Marl Road, says that they were both freed on bail.

Border officials said the two pleaded guilty and were fined about $1,200, but no finding was recorded.
In the week after she was arrested, Hadid shared a number of photos on Instagram that showed her having fun at the beach and in the water. She wrote “All’s well that ends well” as the caption for a picture she shared on Tuesday.
