Justin Bieber Discovery
In 2006, Scooter was given a YouTube video of Justin Bieber, then 12 years old, singing a Ne-Yo cover. Scooter got in touch with Justin’s mother Pattie and persuaded her to pay a trial visit to him in Atlanta. He persuaded Justin and Pattie to relocate from Canada to the United States after working with them for a number of weeks.
Once in the US, Scooter introduced Justin to a number of musicians, including Ludacris, Usher Raymond, and Justin Timberlake. Then, Usher persuaded L.A. Scooter paid Yael a $20 million equalisation payment as part of the conditions of their divorce settlement, and he also agreed to pay her $60,000 per month in child support. Yael kept their $30+ million Brentwood home (which will be described in more detail later), along with a number of works of art, financial records, and a Land Rover Defender.
Scooter left with his post-separation $65 million Brentwood property, a $40 million Gulfstream G450 private jet, and more than 100 works of art with a combined market value of over $100 million.
Real Estate
Scooter and Yael paid $13.1 million in November 2014 to buy a mansion in Brentwood, California. David and Diane, Yael’s parents, have lived across the street in a $12.5 million home since 2018. Scooter and Yael paid $18 million off-market for the neighboring home in January 2020. John Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston sold the house in 1993 for $3.5 million.
Scooter listed his former Sunset Strip house for sale at $4.6 million in 2014. He put a second Los Angeles house on the market for $11.6 million in 2014. The price he paid for this home in 2011 was $5.7 million.
