Early Life
On May 24, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York, Priscilla Ann Wagner gave birth to Elvis Presley. Ann had Priscilla when she was only 19 years old, and her Navy pilot father, James, died when Priscilla was only 6 months old in an aircraft disaster.
In 1948, Ann wed Paul Beaulieu, an Air Force officer, and Priscilla began using the Beaulieu surname instead of Wagner. Due to Beaulieu’s Air Force employment, the family relocated frequently, taking Presley from Connecticut to New Mexico to Maine to Texas. In 1956, Priscilla met Elvis Presley, who was also serving in the Army, after Paul was sent there.

Priscilla and her friend and stylist Olivia Bis launched a Los Angeles clothes boutique called Bis & Beau in 1973. The store was popular among A-listers like Cher, Barbra Streisand, and Natalie Wood before it eventually shut down in 1976. After Elvis’ death in 1977, Priscilla served as Lisa Marie’s executor.
When she learned that much of her daughter’s fortune would be spent on Graceland (via maintenance, taxes, and other fees), she worked with CEO Jack Soden to transform the mansion into a tourist attraction. It debuted on June 7, 1982, to rave reviews from Elvis fans, and is now a National Historic Landmark that draws over 650,000 people annually to its museum.
Lisa Marie Presley was legally able to inherit the estate, which Priscilla had managed as president and chairwoman of Elvis Presley Enterprises, in 1993. The estate was then worth more than $100 million.
She has produced movies and TV shows like “Elvis and Me” (1988), “Breakfast with Einstein” (1998), “Finding Graceland” (1998), and the upcoming “Agent King” adult animated series on Netflix, among others.
She was a series regular on “Dallas” (1983–1988) and starred in all three “The Naked Gun” films as Jane Spencer, Lt. Relationship with Elvis Presley
Priscilla first met Elvis in September 1959 at a reception at his Bad Nauheim mansion. In spite of her parents’ initial resistance, Presley was able to win over Priscilla’s parents when he showed up at their house dressed as a soldier. Prior to Priscilla’s visit to Elvis in Los Angeles in 1962, the two stayed in touch over the phone after Elvis’ March 1960 departure from West Germany.
In March of 1963, Priscilla relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, where she would complete her education at Immaculate Conception High School and reside with Elvis’ father and stepmother, just streets away from Graceland. Priscilla wanted to see Elvis in Hollywood, but he advised her to stay in Memphis; the press reported about his affair with “Viva Las Vegas” co-star Ann-Margaret, and when Priscilla challenged him about it, he said it was all a rumor to promote the picture. (During Elvis and Priscilla’s marriage, he had extramarital affairs with several of his co-stars.)
In a brief 8-minute ceremony on May 1, 1967, in Las Vegas, Priscilla and Elvis became husband and wife; on February 1, 1968, their daughter Lisa Marie was born. Priscilla cites her affair with her dancing teacher in 1968—the year she began taking private lessons—for helping her understand that she wasn’t happy in her marriage.
At Elvis’s urging, she eventually began training in karate and had an affair with her instructor, Mike Stone. Priscilla later explained that she felt emotionally and physically unfulfilled during her marriage. Elvis Presley and Sharon Stone divorced in February 1972, and despite Elvis’s previous statements that he wanted Stone killed, he ultimately decided against having Stone assassinated by his bodyguard.
Priscilla received $725,000 in cash, child support, spousal maintenance, half of the proceeds from the sale of their Beverly Hills house, and 5% of Elvis’ publishing company royalties after the pair separated on October 9, 1973, and agreed to split custody of their daughter, Lisa Marie.

In 1976, Presley spent $170,000 on a home for her parents in Los Angeles; she sold the property this year for $3.9 million.
She lived in a Beverly Hills mansion that was seven thousand square feet in size for a long time. In the immediate aftermath of her separation from Elvis, she moved into the house. Priscilla put up her Beverly Hills mansion for a whopping $16 million in August of 2020. As 2020 came to a close, she made a $13 million profit on the sale of this residence.
She bought a penthouse in Century City, California, for a little under $5 million at the beginning of 2021.
