Tupper started dating Anne Heche after meeting her in 2007 on Men in Trees. Atlas was born to them, and they also helped raise Heche’s son Homer from a previous relationship.

They were unable to resolve their issues and split up in 2018. The horror film Nothing Left to Fear (2013) and the television series Aftermath both feature their collaboration (2016).
