A 28-year-old American football quarterback by the name of Cooper Rush. He is best remembered for his time spent playing for the Dallas Cowboys in the National Football League. In Charlotte, Michigan, USA, on November 21, 1993, Cooper Rush was born. His parents, Matthew and Frances Rush, gave birth to him. He enrolled at Lansing Catholic High School to further his education. He started at quarterback for his high school football for all three years. He was a standout quarterback in high school, guiding his squad to back-to-back victories in the regular seasons in 2010 and 2011.

Cooper Rush Career

Cooper Rush also played a significant role in his high school team’s 2011 state runner-up finish. In Division 5 regional championship games, he played well. With five touchdown passes, Rush even broke state records for Michigan. Despite playing brilliantly throughout the championship game, he was unable to help his high school team win the title.

After becoming a four-year starter at Central Michigan University, Rush showed even more skill. He only received a football scholarship offer before enrolling at Central Michigan University. He qualified for the 2014 Bahamas Bowl as the University’s football team’s sophomore year began. He set the all-time record for all bowl games at the conclusion of the postseason college football game with seven touchdown throws.

He had his best junior season in 2015. He passed for 3,703 yards in the first 13 games, setting a new school mark for a single season. Rush also had 3848 throwing yards, 25 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions on 66.3% of his throws completed.

He had a low completion rate of 59.8% when he began his senior year. Additionally, his output decreased to 3540 throwing yards and 23 touchdowns. At the conclusion of his college career, he had 90 touchdown passes and 12,894 passing yards.

The Dallas Cowboys signed Cooper on May 12 as an undrafted free agent. He initially competed in the training camp alongside Zac Dysert as the backup quarterback as a rookie. He held onto his position as the backup quarterback in 2018 and was not even opposed to it in 2019. He signed a one-year contract with the Cowboys as a restricted free agent in March 2020.

On May 4, though, the Cowboys released him when they signed Andy Dalton. Rush joined the New York Giants practice squad in September 2020. On September 29, 2020, he was yet promptly cut off from the Giants practice squad. He returned to the Dallas Cowboys in October 2020, when he was added to the practice squad.

Rush and the Dallas Cowboys agreed to a long-term contract on January 4, 2021. Cooper recently started for the Cowboys against the Minnesota Vikings, and he contributed to the team’s 20-16 victory by scoring two touchdowns.
