Early Life
Cohen, Andrew Joseph was born on June 2, 1968, in St. Louis, Missouri.
The Cohens, Cohen included, were a Jewish couple named Lou and Evelyn. From a young age, he attended “Camp Nebagamon for Boys” on Lake Nebagamon.
After attending “Clayton High School,” he graduated in 1986. In the future, he went to “Boston University” and graduated with a bachelor of science in broadcast journalism.

TV career:

At CBS News, where he and fellow intern Julie Chen did their first TV work, he was one of his first TV gigs. Cohen worked for CBS for a decade. Over time, he worked his way up to senior producer on “The Early Show” on CBS. As a producer, he was involved in “48 Hours.” Andy departed CBS to become Vice President of Programming at the cable network Trio in 2000.
Five years later, Bravo hired him to help transform the network into the reality television powerhouse that it is today. Formerly, Andy Cohen oversaw all of Bravo’s original programming as its VP of Development and Production. Cohen’s talk program Watch What Happens Live premiered in the summer of 2009 and airs nightly at midnight on NBC.

Accolades:

Andy has been recognized for his achievements in the field on several occasions. In 2010, he was honored with an Emmy for his efforts as the show’s executive producer on the hit reality culinary competition “Top Chef.”
His work as Executive Producer on the documentary “The N-Word” earned him a Peabody Award in 2004. As executive producer of “Project Runway,” Cohen was honored with a 2007 Peabody Award. In 2010, he was included on TV Guide’s Power List. After a rigorous voting process, GQ named him one of the year’s best-dressed men in 2012.
Andy was included on Out’s annual list of the 50 Most Powerful Gay People from 2012 through 2016. Cohen also was honored at this year’s GLAAD Media Awards with the Vito Russo Award, which was presented during the event’s 30th anniversary.
Personal Life:
Cohen made history by being the first openly homosexual host of a late-night talk show in the United States. In February 2019, he became a parent via surrogacy. A son, Benjamin Allen Cohen, was born to him. Cohen was diagnosed with COVID-19 on March 21, 2020.

Real Estate

Andy made his first real estate transaction in 2003, when he paid an unknown amount for a condo in the West Village building at 2 Horatio Street.
By purchasing three additional apartments in the same building throughout the years, he was able to create a single large space.
The West Village condo is probably valued between $6 and $8 million now. Andy spent $5.4 million in March 2019 to buy a 0.5-acre oceanfront site with 125 feet of ocean frontage in the Hamptons town of Amagansett. In the past, the property’s asking price was as high as $7.3 million.
