Ang Lee’s son Mason Lee will play the title role in the upcoming Bruce Lee biopic!

The film will be directed by Ang Lee, who is known for producing blockbusters like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Life of Pi, and Brokeback Mountain. His son Mason Lee will play Bruce Lee in the starring role. Dan Futterman (Capote, Foxcatcher) will pen the screenplay; earlier draughts of the script were written by Jean Castelli, Alex Law, Mabel Cheung, and Wells Tower.

There isn’t a lot of information about the movie as of yet, but Ang Lee stated in a statement about the movie that he was compelled to share Bruce’s narrative because he sees parallels between himself and the martial artist in their life stories.

Bruce Lee

I feel obligated to convey the story of this smart, exceptional human being who desired to fit in, had incredible strength in spite of weighing only 135 pounds, and, through unrelenting hard work, turned unattainable goals into reality.
