HBO MAX Canceled Minx Despite Renewing for A Second Season!
Contrary to prior speculations, Minx won’t be back for HBO Max’s Season 2.
PerVariety, “According to reports, Warner Bros. Discovery chose to cancel the show in its latest cost-cutting measure just as production on its second season was about to wind up.”
The first season of Minx will likewise be taken from HBO Max, but the show’s creator, Lionsgate Television, intends to pitch the project to other platforms.
The comedy series Gordita Chronicles will also be withdrawn from the streaming service, according to Deadline, and this revelation follows similar ones made by HBO Max.
The showrunner of the Gordita Chronicles Brigitte Mu oz-Liebowitz tweeted the information and noted that the show ends on HBO Max on Monday, December 19.
The first and currently final season of Minx will no longer air on HBO Max, but TV Line has confirmed that Lionsgate Television is looking for a new home for the show.
In a statement, Lionsgate Television said, “We have enjoyed fantastic cooperation with HBO Max and are working closely to find a new outlet for Minx, so current, and new fans, may continue this adventure with us.
According to the HBO Max logline, Minx follows Joyce, “an earnest young feminist who joins up with a low-rent publisher to produce the first sensual magazine for women.” The show is set in 1970s Los Angeles.
HBO Max had previously renewed Minx for Season 2 in May before the most recent cancellation. The Season 1 (now Series) finale of the comedy made its online streaming premiere in April.
Executive producer Ellen Rapoport talked about her excitement to continue the series after such a positive response when Minx was renewed.

The emotional response from viewers all across the world, who have mashed-up, TikTok-ed, and fanfic-ed us into a renewal, has astounded everyone at Minx, Rapoport said.
“We are extremely appreciative of the opportunity to continue this journey and to our friends at HBO Max and Lionsgate for being great champions of the show. In Season 2, here’s to more chest hair, pussy bow blouses, and elegant nudity,” Rapoport said.

Sarah Aubrey, Head of Original Content, HBO Max, praised the continuation of Minx in regards to the network.
“We are overjoyed that the Minx verse has resonated in this way. The cast flawlessly carries out the showrunner and creator Ellen Rapoport’s vision, along with the rest of our talented creative team, Aubrey remarked.
For season two, Doug and Joyce will be hiding medications in peanut butter, and we can’t wait for the fans to find out! Finally, Aubrey said. The comedy’s first episode, “Not Like A Shvantz Right In The Face / Au revoir, le double dong,” from Minx Season 1 debuted in April 2022.
Ophelia Lovibond, Jake Johnson, Idara Victor, Jessica Lowe, Lennon Parham, Michael Angarano, and Oscar Montoya were among the actors who starred in Minx.
Rapoport, the show’s creator and executive producer, worked with Paul Feig and Dan Magnante to produce Minx for Feigco Entertainment. In addition to directing the pilot, Ben Karlin, and Rachel Lee Goldenberg. An additional co-executive producer is Jake Johnson.
