The “Super Mario Bros. Movie” Gets a Real Plumbing Website and A Tribute to “Mario Rap”

The game is called “Fixing Pipes” and the Mario Brothers are the characters. A new teaser for the upcoming Super Mario Bros. movie contained a special surprise for fans in a number of different ways among the deluge of Super Bowl 2023 advertising.

To begin with, it differs from every other trailer that has already been released. Instead of clips from the film, this new reel offers a novel interpretation of the “Mario Rap,” the iconic opener from the live-action Super Mario Bros. Super Show, which aired from 1989 to 1991.

Let’s review the original now:

After a delighted client thanks Super Mario Bros., the trailer ends with a hotline and website. “It looks like the only thing you haven’t drained is my bank account,” the consumer exclaims. The fully functional dummy website, which assures clients that the company is “family-owned and run” and “aim(s) to one-up the competition with our superior white-glove service,” is the greatest part.

There is even a section with recommendations, which includes one from Spike, the boys’ boss, and Sebastian Maniscalco’s character in the film. Wow, about being meta!

The website says, “Without any talk of rescuing princesses or battling Bowser, my tiny (but taller) brother, Luigi, and I leaped at the opportunity to take on Brooklyn’s plumbing problems all by ourselves.”

It turns out that the listed number (929-55-MARIO) is likewise operational. Senders will receive in-character texts with a link to “access special information, service opportunities, and more” when their texts are received. A second SMS with message and data prices and the Super Mario Bros. Plumbing contact information will arrive after the sign-up process is complete. If you receive a call, Luigi will advise you to text the number or visit the website instead of picking up the phone because everything is simpler online than it is over the phone (there’s a mood there).

Given that there hasn’t been any advertising like this in a long, everything seems very nice. The Super Bowl commercial is a fantastic way to build anticipation for the Super Mario Bros. Movie, which will open in theatres on April 7, 2023. Chris Pratt plays Mario, Charlie Day plays Luigi, Seth Rogen plays Donkey Kong, Jack Black plays Bowser, and Anya Taylor-Joy plays Princess Peach in the movie.
