“Black Myth: Wukong,” Tells of 2024 Launch in Lunar New Year Short!
The upcoming Chinese New Year, which ushers in the Year of the Rabbit, is a time of celebration for many people around the world. Additionally, there are other reasons to celebrate for those of us who enjoy playing games. Game Science, the company behind Black Myth: Wukong, has officially disclosed the game’s launch window, which is 2024, in a brand-new Chinese New Year short film.
At first, the short film appears to showcase some outstanding stop-motion animation, but as it goes on, it becomes much more obvious that the film is making a reference to the process of creating the much-awaited game. Many of us who work in the game industry can relate to Black Myth: Wukong’s extended development period and the necessity for a powerful PC to even run it.
The real sting, of course, is that once the rabbit in the movie has a PC capable of running Black Myth: Wukong, it receives a prompt indicating that the game isn’t yet ready for download and won’t be for a few years.
The game does eventually become playable, but our hero is no longer a child. Instead, the younger generation is now enjoying the game. The year 2024 and the summertime release date of Black Myth: Wukong is then made known.
This announcement should at least offer you something to look forward to in the upcoming months if you have been eagerly awaiting the game.
Black Myth: Wukong will be released for the PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Series X|S consoles.
