Zachary Levi Backs the Claim that Dwayne Johnson Turned Down ‘Black Adam’ Characters for The ‘Shazam 2’ Post-Credits Scene!
Shazam! Fury of the Gods, the most recent DC comic book movie, is presently showing in theaters. But now that viewers have seen the movie’s post-credits scene, there has reportedly been some turmoil behind the scenes. Actor Zachary Levi now backs up the assertion that Dwayne Johnson forbade specific Black Adam figures from appearing in the post-credits scene of Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
Members of the Justice Society of America were planned to show up in Shazam!, as reported by The Wrap. The Gods’ fury. Similarly, Shazam was supposed to make an appearance in Black Adam. Evidently, neither of these appearances was successful, and the report holds Dwayne Johnson accountable. It has been established that Black Adam, a Dwayne Johnson passion project, was designed to reorganize the live-action DC franchise around Superman and Black Adam. This was hinted at when Henry Cavill made his long-awaited (and fleeting) return as Superman in the post-credits sequence of Black Adam. Nevertheless, the preparations were abandoned after James Gunn made it apparent that Henry Cavill would no longer be playing Superman in his DC Universe.
Without a doubt, most of these DC movies have had a lot of drama behind the scenes. Yet, there is still hope that the recently formed DC Studios, led by James Gunn and Peter Safran, will move forward with most, if not all, of these problems fixed. Just witnessing what had to occur prior is unfortunate. Shazam! Wrath of the Gods was directed by David F. Sandberg. Chris Morgan and Henry Gayden wrote the movie’s screenplay.
