Reboot Series of “RoboCop” Said to Be in The Works at Amazon Studios!
The only significant piece of information we have about the Robotop franchise is that Robotop Returns, a direct sequel to the first movie, is now in production. But those strategies appear to have changed in light of Amazon’s recent acquisition of the MGM Library. One of the MGM films, RoboCopi, is now owned by Amazon, who apparently plans to revive it with a television series.
According to Deadline, Amazon Studios is considering bringing back the RoboCop brand and a number of other MGM franchises. Fascinatingly, they point out that Amazon might also be interested in pursuing a new film project in addition to the prospect of a television series.
What Was Said Is as Follows:
Robocop, Stargate, Legally Blonde, Fame, Barbershop, The Magnificent Seven, Pink Panther, and The Thomas Crown Affair are just a few of the initial titles that Amazon Studios has identified for film and/or TV development over the past year, since the deal closed in March 2022.

According to Deadline, Robocop is also being discussed for both film and television, with a TV show reportedly being the first.
Naturally, RobotCop has already been adapted for television. Many fans will even remember that we’ve had a live-action Robot Cop series in addition to two animated Robot Cop episodes. With that in mind, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that Amazon would wish to develop the character in that way. Even still, a lot of fans have undoubtedly been curious to see what the hypothetical “RoboCop Returns” would have to give the series.

The movie would have continued the story from the first Robot Cop while ignoring its first two sequels. The movie would also not have included the 2014 remake, which was not well received by viewers. As a result, now that Amazon is in charge, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
