Karl Urban Is Almost Settled Into His Role as Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat 2!
Fans of Mortal Kombat are thrilled to see a follow-up to the highly successful live-action Mortal Kombat movie from 2021. Of course, many people are hoping that particular video game characters that were absent from that installment will show up in the follow-up. Currently, it appears that Johnny Cage, one of those characters, is in discussions to play a role in Mortal Kombat 2 alongside Karl Urban.
The Wrap reported this information. They claim that Karl Urban is finalizing plans to play the beloved video game franchise character Johnny Cage in the follow-up to New Line’s successful 2021 action adventureMortal Kombat. As previously indicated, before the first movie’s debut, fans complained about Cage’s absence. Cage’s appearance in a prospective sequel was later hinted at in a post-credits scene. Now, it appears as though the strategy will succeed.
Naturally, this is not surprising. One of the most well-known characters from the video game series is Johnny Cage. His performances date all the way back to the 1992 arcade game’s debut. He has now evolved into one of the most recognizable recurrent characters in the show. With Karl Urban playing the role of Johnny Cage, it only makes sense to introduce him to the live-action Mortal Kombat universe.

The Mortal Kombat sequel will once again be helmed by Simon McQuoid, whose screenplay was penned by Jeremy Slater. Ed Boon and John Tobias produced the original video games that served as the inspiration for the movies.
