Insidious 5 Will Be Called “Insidious: The Red Door” and Come out This July!
When it was revealed that Insidious 5, the highly anticipated fifth installment in the beloved horror franchise, would indeed be occurring, fans were elated. The official title for the upcoming sequel is now Insidious: The Red Door.
The new title was revealed via Collider, and as they pointed out, it’s quite fitting. Red doors are a well-known concept to franchise devotees. They have, after all, made numerous appearances throughout the series. In the first two movies, where red doors lead to the separate lairs of the primary adversaries.
Understandably, this gives the following episode a somewhat ominous feel. And as is only fitting, very little is known about the plot. Although we do know that the Lambert family is returning in the movie. Actually set ten years after Insidious: Chapter 2, the movie follows Josh Lambert, played by Patrick Wilson, as he drives Ty Simpkins Dalton to college. Despite the fact that it seems like his childhood demons followed him there.
After numerous movies that centered on Lin Shaye’s Elise character, this interesting setup for a sequel should be a welcome change of pace. We’ll simply have to wait and see what kind of terror this time is hiding behind the crimson door.
Patrick Wilson, who also served as the movie’s director, also reprised his role as an actor in Insidious: The Red Door. Leigh Whannell’s original narrative served as the basis for Scott Teems’ script.
Together with newcomers Sinclair Daniel, Peter Dager, and Hiam Abbass, original Insidious performers Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, and Ty Simpkins all return.
