‘Evil Dead Rise’ Star Bruce Campbell’s Secret Role Exposed!

For the first time in ten years, the Evil Dead movie series is making a comeback in theaters. Now that Evil Dead Rise has been released, fans may be wondering if Bruce Campbell, a stalwart of the franchise, will make an appearance.

In all three of the original Evil Dead movies, the adored actor played Ash Williams. He also made a comeback in the role of Ash from the Ash versus Evil Dead television series. And given that he made a fleeting appearance during the 2013 remake’s end credits, it wouldn’t be unexpected to anticipate a similar appearance from him in Rise. Intriguingly, he plays a quite different unrevealed role in the movie.

Young Danny appears in the cameo when he uses his turntable to play a few albums and the Book of the Dead that he found. Most of the recordings feature a priest talking about the book and the implications of reading from it. Bruce Campbell’s voice, however, can be heard yelling the following phrase when he initially declares his intentions to do so:

Delete it! The Book of the Dead is thus named for a reason.

Director Lee Cronin speculates that Bruce Campbell might even be acting as Ash Williams when he says the line, as he revealed in an interview with NME.

When we were working on the sound, Bruce traveled to Ireland, and I asked him to play a brief cameo for me. The best thing is that Ash Williams may very well be Bruce Campbell, who isn’t necessarily portraying someone else.

Bruce Campbell so appears in Evil Dead Rise and may perhaps play Ash Williams. It wouldn’t be shocking for a character who has previously traveled across time. In the years to come, perhaps the continuity between installments will only become more obvious.

Alyssa Sutherland, Lily Sullivan, Gabrielle Echols, Morgan Davies, Mia Challis, and Nell Fisher are among the cast members of the movie.
