Whitney Houston Biopic in the “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” Trailer!

Sony Pictures has released a brand new trailer for I Wanna Dance With Somebody, the forthcoming biographical drama starring Naomi Ackie as legendary singer Whitney Houston. The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 26.

In addition to Houston’s unmatched ascent to popularity, her difficult relationship with her father, her romance with Bobby Brown, and her legacy as a superstar, the video continues to focus on key parts of Houston’s life and career.

Kasi Lemmons (Harriet) is the director of the film I Wanna Dance With Somebody, which takes its name from one of Whitney Houston’s well-known songs. Anthony McCarten wrote the screenplay (Bohemian Rhapsody). Stanley Tucci, Ashton Sanders, Tamara Tunie, Nafessa Williams, and Clarke Peters will appear alongside Ackie.

Stella Meghie (The Photograph), who was previously attached to direct, is still working as an executive producer alongside McCarten, Grammy-winning producer Clive Davis, Pat Houston, Primary Wave’s Larry Mester, and Denis O Sullivan.

The Whitney Houston Estate and Primary Wave collaborated on the creation of I Want to Dance With Somebody. The project has been granted permission to use the late singer’s discography and vocals thanks to Houston’s estate and Davis. On behalf of TriStar Pictures, Nicole Brown, Shary Shirazi, and Brittany Morrissey will also be in charge of the project’s management.
