When Does Venom 2 Come Out? Release Date, Cast & Everything We Know so Far!
Here is everything we know about Venom 3, including when it might be released, who will play the lead roles, and the movie’s plot and background.
Sony Pictures gave the villainous symbiote Venom from Spider-Man his own movie in 2018. Despite its divisive reception, the Venom film series, which stars the acclaimed British actor Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, has proven a commercial success.
It has been confirmed that Venom 3 is in production, so here is all the information you’ll need about it.
Will There Be a Venom 3?
Fan of Venom, rejoice: a third film in the franchise is in the works. Tom Hardy confirmed on his Instagram that franchise author Kelly Marcel would be returning to pen the script for Venom 3. Tom Hardy has added his own twist to the story, just as he did in the previous Venom film, Let There Be Carnage.
Hardy has previously told Digital Spy, “These things [typically] come in threes.” Each one must go off without a hitch if there is to be a subsequent one; otherwise, the likelihood of there being another one is minimal.
But if you think parts one, two, and three are all the same thing—the same story, the same movie—then I think you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. In order to avoid being taken aback by the unexpected necessity of adding a third step.
“There’s got to be some continuity into a third and fourth and fifth, and if somebody says ‘no,’ that’s great,” he continued. To go on to something else, just let it go.
Venom 3 Release Date: When Is It Coming Out?
There is currently no set date for the release of Venom 3, which is unfortunate. As indicated above, the sequel is now in the writing process, with no indication of when it’ll enter production.
While Phase Four of the MCU proceeds, Sony Pictures has a trio of Spider-Man spinoffs scheduled: Kraven the Hunter on January 13, 2023, Madame Web on July 7, 2023, and El Muerto on January 12, 2024.
The eagerly awaited Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will hit theatres on June 2, 2023, followed by Beyond the Spider-Verse on March 29, 2024. Both films are sequels to Spider-Man: Homecoming, which won an Academy Award in 2018.
Venom 3 Cast: Who’s Returning, and Are There Any New Characters?
We don’t yet have any confirmed cast announcements for Venom 3, but we can be pretty sure that Tom Hardy will be back as Eddie Brock and his alien partner Venom.
Back in August 2018, Hardy confirmed that he had signed up for three movies which we assume were just Venom movies. Even if it included his brief appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home though, we’d be surprised if Hardy wasn’t back in the third movie.
It’s harder to be positive about who else will come back, but we could see Stephen Graham’s Patrick Mulligan again. He somehow survived the sequel after being strung up by the neck with a chain and what looked like a serious spinal injury.
He will almost surely be playing the character Toxin, as his final moments on the screen showed him with blue glowing eyes, babbling about monsters. The actor remained tight-lipped, but did say that “there’s a possibility that may be explored in the future”.
Whether Michelle Williams returns as Ann and She-Venom is uncertain, but we have to hope it’s a yes. Williams wasn’t granted any more screentime in Venom: Let There Be Carnage as She-Venom, something she’d expressed interest in exploring.
A third movie may allow her space to play that further, along with her sometimes-unwilling-participant of fiancé Dan Lewis (Reid Scott) (Reid Scott). The couple seems fairly solid, so we can’t imagine Ann returning without Dan.
Though Venom and Eddie finish the movie on the run, we hope to see more of Peggy Lu as Mrs. Chen, the owner of the local convenience store.
As for the less-likely to return, unfortunately, we can’t see a way for Woody Harrelson to return as Cletus Kasady/Carnage, given that the film ended with Venom biting his head off.
Likewise, a return for Naomie Harris would be odd given Shriek was crushed by falling rubble and a massive church bell… but never say never
Venom 3 Plot: What Will It Be About?
Where Venom 3 will take Eddie Brock is uncertain, however, we assume the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home will factor into Tom Hardy’s third adventure.
I know everyone is itching for Venom to meet Spider-Man,” director Andy Serkis told Screen Rant. That is something I am well aware of. But I think some of the other supervillains living in Ravencroft have a lot of potentials. There’s so much potential there waiting to be revealed. That would be the sandbox I’d be really interested in playing in. Who knows who might be hiding in there and possibly escaping? ”
Perhaps Morbius himself will play a role in the narrative’s development. In fact, it is preferred that it not occur.
Venom 3 Trailer: Is There a Trailer, and Where Can I Watch It?
While a trailer for Venom 3 has not yet been released, we will be sure to include it as soon as Marvel provides fans with their first look at Eddie Brock’s third solo outing.
