When Does Super Mario Movie Come Out? Biggest Gaming Series of All Time!
The biggest gaming series of all time, Super Mario Bros., only had a single big-screen adaptation. In contrast, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Pokémon have all had many cinematic adaptations since their initial releases.
Now, though, that will hopefully change with the upcoming release of Nintendo and Illumination’s untitled Super Mario Bros. film, which will bring the mushroom-loving plumber to a whole new generation and right the wrongs of the live-action 1993 film.
With the likes of Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, and a who’s who of top talent lending their voices to the film, as well as a slew of A-list producers, including the man who created Mario, fans have high hopes that Nintendo’s most recognizable character will receive a satisfying redemption arc when the film finally hits theatres in the spring of 2023.
Super Mario Movie Release Date
When the Super Mario Bros. movie debuts in theatres across North America on April 7, 2023, the world’s love for the renowned plumber-turned-video-game-hero will be undeniable. Universal and Illumination decided to delay the video game adaptation’s theatrical debut by nearly four months, from December 2022 to March 2023. Deadline claims that the decision was aimed to attract more families to the show over the Easter weekend.
A release date for the worldwide version of the long-awaited video game adaption is expected to be announced in the coming months, so keep your eyes and ears peeled (or any green tunnels that pop up throughout the Mushroom Kingdom). Find the warp flute from Super Mario Bros. 3 now and you can fast forward to the next year.

Is There a Trailer?
In the first trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie, we get our first glimpse at King Bowser wreaking havoc on a penguin kingdom in his pursuit of the fabled Star. Once he has the Star, nothing can stop him.
Meanwhile, Mario, the plumber, launches himself out of a pipe and into a fantastical world. Through a chance encounter, he is whisked away to the Mushroom Kingdom by Toad, where he can put an end to the crisis. We also see Mario’s brother Luigi, who, unlike his sibling, ended up in a fiery underworld rather than the peaceful mushroom kingdom.
