On October 15, 2022, Disney Channel and Disney XD will air season three at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Two more 44-minute specials will premiere in 2023. “Thanks to Them,” the first special,
“After months of attempting, Luz and her pals undertake a daring attempt to return to the Demon Realm,” states the first special summary. The series will end this season.
The show’s creator, Dana Terrace, promised a 20-episode finale. Disney Channel reduced the third season to three 44-minute programs despite its popularity. “Hooty hoot we’re returning, on October 15,” the creator tweeted.

Luz and her friends, stuck in the human world, will do anything to return to the demon realm and protect the Boiling Isles from Emperor Belos and the Collector in the third season.

“While we have had difficulty airing in a few countries [and are just straight out prohibited in a few more] I’m not going to assume bad faith against the individuals I deal with in LA,” Terrace said of LGBTQ+ programming.
They wanted to leave TOH and this was the perfect opportunity. Even getting s3 consolation episodes was hard. “Hard to say, I wasn’t allowed to be part of any conversations until I was just… Told,” Dana Terrace said.
