The musical, which was based on the book by the renowned British author Roald Dahl, received 47 international prizes, and now a film adaptation of the musical is coming to Netflix.

In 2021, Netflix declared that a Matilda film adaption would be added to its extensive library in December 2022).
Digital Spy reports that the film adaptation of the classic novel will premiere in UK theatres on December 2, 2022, and that the musical adaptation will be made available on Netflix “the same month” for audiences in other territories.

The streaming service shared the news on August 30 that the movie musical would debut on December 25, 2022. The film will premiere on December 9 in a limited number of cinemas in the United States.
