When Does Andor Come Out: Is Coming to Disney+ on 21 September 2022
The next Star Wars live-action television series, Andor, is almost ready to make its debut on Disney+. Cassian Andor, played by Diego Luna and originally introduced to us in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, makes his return in this new series. He is a jaded but dedicated rebel agent.
However, you have never seen anything quite like this rendition of Cassian before. Cassian Andor, in this version of the story that takes place five years before the events of Rogue One, has not yet joined the rebellion against the Galactic Empire and instead opts to take action against it on his own initiative. Why does Andor decide to sign up with the Rebel Alliance? It’s about time that we found out.
How much longer do you have to wait till the first episode of Andor is available on Disney+? And approximately how many episodes will be made available in the very first week? Find out everything you need to know about the debut of Andor on Disney+ in the following guide.
What Is the Andor Release Date?
On September 21st, 2022, at 8 am British Summer Time, the first episode of Andor will debut on Disney Plus.
The premiere of Andor had been scheduled to take place on August 31st, however, it has now been postponed.
The series will immediately follow the Obi-Wan Kenobi series that is now airing on Disney Plus.
After getting its start in November 2020, production on the series continued until September 2021, when it was finally wrapped up.

It was announced in December 2020 that Andor will consist of a total of 12 episodes, making it significantly lengthier than a single season of The Mandalorian (which consists of only eight episodes) or another Disney Plus original series called WandaVision (nine episodes).
“I believe that the format of a series is wonderful because we have a lot of time to investigate all of those layers,” she said. “It’s just one of those things.” According to Luna’s comments to The Hollywood Reporter, the events of Rogue One are something upon which audiences can truly contemplate.
A second season has already been commissioned, and like the first one, it will have a total of 12 episodes and carry the story of Cassian Andor back up to the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
ANDOR: According to Tony Gilroy, they filmed a total of 12 episodes for the first season, which is set five years before the events of ROGUE ONE. This coming autumn, he and Lucasfilm will begin production on season 2 (another 12 episodes), which will be released in stages over the course of the subsequent four years. The conclusion of the scene is intended to flow seamlessly into ROGUE ONE.
When Will Andor Episode 4 Come out On Disney+?
Beginning on Wednesday, September 21, viewers will be able to stream the first three episodes of the series Andor. Because those three episodes tell a plot that spans the entirety of a feature film, watching them is almost identical to purchasing a new Star Wars film.
When Will New Episodes of Andor Come out On Disney+?
On September 28, Episode 4 of “Andor” will make its debut on Disney+. This episode will mark the beginning of a new plot arc that will consist of three parts. In contrast to the first narrative, which consisted of three parts and was presented in its entirety at the beginning of the season, the other episodes will be presented one at a time, once per week.
When will Disney+ be updated with new episodes of the Andor series?
After the initial broadcast, Andor will roll out subsequent episodes one at a time. Andor’s release schedule looks like this:
- Episodes 1-3: Wednesday, September 21, 2022
- Episode 4: Wednesday, September 28, 2022

Andor debuts on Disney+ on September 21.
The following actors and actresses have been selected for their roles in Andor.
- Diego Luna as Cassian Andor
- Stellan Skarsgård as Luthen Rael
- Adria Arjona as Kleya
- Fiona Shaw as Maarva
- Denise Gough as Dedra Meero
- Kyle Soller as Syril Karn
- Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma
- Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera
- Robert Emms
- David Hayman
- Anton Lesser
- Faye Marsay
Cassian Andor, who was portrayed by Diego Luna in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story as a “charismatic Rebel leader,” will be back in this film. Andor was one of the key players in the plot to steal the blueprints for the Death Star.
Stellan Skarsgard, Kyle Soller, and Denise Gough are some of the new cast members that have joined the show.
While Skarsgard is best known for his roles in the films Chernobyl and Marvel’s Thor (as Dr. Erik Selvig), he seems to be playing a revolutionary figure known as Luther in this film. Luther is the one who recruits Andor into the Rebel Alliance to fight against the Galactic Empire, and he also seems to be familiar with both Saw Gerrera and Mon Mothma.
Soller, who is best known for his role as Francis in the BBC historical drama Poldark, and Gough, who participated in the ITV 2021 drama Too Close, is currently playing two officers in the Imperial Amry. Soller is best known for his role in Poldark, while Gough appeared in Too Close.
While Soller is playing the role of Sergeant Linus Mosk, Gough is portraying the higher-ranking character of Dedra Meero.
Forest Whitaker and Genevieve O’Reilly will be reprising their roles as Saw Gerrera and Mon Mothma, respectively, in Star Wars: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story; nevertheless, the absence of a prominent cast member from the previous film will make him stand out.
In a separate context, Killing Eve actor Fiona Shaw makes an appearance in the role of the mysterious figure Marva.
Robert Emms, who starred in Chornobyl and His Dark Materials, was rumored to be joining the project in June 2021, but there has been no confirmation regarding the character that he will be portraying in the film. Deadline made the announcement.
Alan Tudyk has dispelled rumors that he will play a co-starring role in Andor opposite Luna. He stated in a recent interview with Collider that he will not appear in the first season of the show, but that he could very well show up in a later season or season later on.
“They’re shooting it right now, but I’m not in it,” Tudyk remarked, clarifying his role in the production. “However, if it continues to be shown and new stories continue to be told, I will inevitably find myself in that room.”
He then went on to say, “I’m going to be in the show.” It’s simply that Tony [Gilroy] isn’t going to get to K-2SO until much later in the story he’s telling… I’m not at liberty to go into too much detail, but I can unequivocally state that you won’t find me in the pilot episode.”
In addition to Robert Emms and David Hayman, the series will also feature Anton Lesser and Faye Marsay, both of whom are known for their roles in Game of Thrones.
Gilroy, who oversaw reshoots and rewrote significant portions of Rogue One prior to the film’s release in 2016, is slated to work as showrunner, succeeding Stephen Schiff in the top post
Is There an Andor Trailer?
We were provided with a number of trailers for the show prior to its debut, the most recent of which was shown at the D23 Expo in early September, which was hosted by Lucasfilm’s parent company, Disney. You can also watch a nine-minute preview of the show on Disney Plus, most of which is taken from the third episode.
