When Are the Latin Grammys: The Latin Grammy Awards Return to Las Vegas in November 2022!

The Latin Recording Academy made the announcement on Monday (July 25) that the 23rd annual Latin Grammys will take place in 2022. The ceremony will be televised live on Univision on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at 8 pm Eastern Time / 5 pm Pacific Time from the Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas.

The ceremony for the 2022 Latin Grammy Awards will be held in the Michelob Ultra Arena located within the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The three-hour presentation, which will be produced by Univision and will be shown live on the network beginning at 8 p.m. ET, will be preceded by a pre-show that will run for one hour and will begin at 7 p.m. ET.

Since 2013, when the arena was still known as the Mandalay Bay Events Center, this will be the first time that the performance has been held in the Michelob Ultra Arena. Between the years 2007 and 2013, the venue played host to the event six times. The show was hosted at the MGM Grand Garden Arena the year before, which is also located in Las Vegas.

The first round of voting will reportedly take place between the dates of July 28 and August 8, as stated by the Latin Recording Academy. The dates for the final round of voting are the 30th of September through the 13th of October.

At the beginning of this month, the Latin Grammys presented the first of its Acoustic Sessions, which featured performances by Lupita Infante, El Fantasma, and Los Dos Carnales, amongst others.

The series will exhibit two digital concerts filmed in Mexico City and Sao Paulo, Brazil, where the artists will play interpretations of their personal favorite songs with surprising collaborations and storytelling, at spectacular settings.

The series will be presented in association with Meta. Later on, a digital concert emanating from Sao Paulo will make its debut, and further musicians are still to be disclosed.

In a press statement, Manuel Abud, CEO of the Latin Recording Academy, said that the purpose of the Latin GRAMMY Acoustic Sessions is to “foster inclusive spaces where music creators can feature their craft, inspiring cultural appreciation, promotion, and preservation of their respective genres.”

Camilo, a singer, and composer from Colombia was the biggest winner at the 2021 Latin Grammy Awards. He took home four awards, including the award for a best pop vocal album for his album “Mis Manos” (Sony Music).

Edgar Barrera, a Mexican songwriter, and producer, tied Camilo for second place in the number of wins with three each. Barrera won producer of the year, including for his work on Camilo’s album Mis Manos, and co-wrote the winning single “Vida de Rico.”

Camilo’s album Mis Manos was also nominated for album of the year. Also bringing home three prizes was the Spaniard C. Tangana, whose triumphs included a best alternative song for “Nominal” duet Jorge Drexler and best pop/rock song for “Hong Kong” alongside Andrés Calamaro, both of which are from his highly regarded El Madrileo album (Sony Music).
