When Are NTA Awards on TV Come out In October 2022.

The National Television Awards 2022 have returned, so it’s time to honour the best in television and cast your votes for your favourite actors and shows. As voting has opened for the NTAs 2022, please review the nominees listed below.

This glitzy event, produced in conjunction with What’s On TV magazine, will honour the best of the year in television by honouring our favourite actors and the most watched shows. The NTAs are the only UK television awards show in which the winners are decided solely by a countrywide public vote.

This year’s live NTAs will be broadcast from a new location. The O2 in London will no longer host the National Television Awards in 2022; instead, they will be moved to the OVO Arena in Wembley. To see the greatest on TV as they walk the renowned red carpet, of course.

In 2022, Joel Dommett, host of “The Masked Singer,” will serve as host of the NTAs once again. Sam Ryder, who placed second in May’s worldwide Eurovision competition with her song “Space Man,” will serve as the show’s opening act.

Joel explains “To be invited back is the best news ever. There have been some amazing television already this year, and I can’t wait to see which shows the public chooses as their favourites. I’ve always wanted to say “Hello, Wembley!” in front of that legendary stadium.”

TV’s biggest night ever, with brand-new categories, special live performances, and special guests you won’t want to miss. Get ready for the National Television Awards 2022 with this complete guide.

Shortlist Nominees for The National Television Awards 2022

Voting for the National Television Awards 2022 shortlist is now open, and we have the exclusive first look at the nominees right here on Whattowatch.com and in What’s On TV magazine (see How To Vote below). Here are some of the best-nominated items that didn’t make the cut…

The New Drama category is shaping up to be a dogfight, with Netflix’s breakout coming-of-age drama Heartstopper competing against Sean Bean’s prison thriller Time, Vicky McClure’s psychological thriller Trigger Point, and Ben Whishaw’s anguished drama This is Going to Hurt.

Meanwhile, Bridgerton, Call the Midwife, and Peaky Blinders are all competing for the prize for Returning Drama, which is a veritable feast of beloved period pieces. Separately, the final season of the divorce drama The Split has also been nominated. Kit Connor, Joe Locke, and Paddy Bever, aka Corrie’s Max Turner, will all be competing against one another in the brand-new Rising Star category!

After Life and Derry Girls go up against each other and other comedies like Not Going Out and Sex Education, so you can choose your favourite comedy. The Drama Performance category features a strong group of nominees, including Nicola Walker (The Split) and Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders) and Vicky McClure (Trigger Point).

The late pop artist Tom Parker of The Wanted has been nominated posthumously for his touching cancer narrative Inside My Head, adding poignancy to the already heated Authored Documentary prize race. Katie Price, with What Harvey Did Next, Julia Bradbury, with Breast Cancer & Me, Christine McGuinness, with Our Family and Autism, and last year’s winner, Kate Garraway, with Caring for Derek, are all in the running for this award.

The Repair Shop’s Jay Blades, Clarkson’s Farm breakthrough star Kaleb Cooper, and money-saving expert Martin Lewis are all vying for the new Expert medal this year in an effort to beat out broadcasting icon Sir David Attenborough. Aside from the Talent Show Judge Award, other categories include Quiz Game Show and Factual Entertainment.

Emmerdale’s Paige Sandhu (Meena) and Mark Charnock (Marlon) and EastEnders’ Rose Ayling-Ellis (Frankie) and Gillian Wright (who plotted Jean’s mental health plotline) are competing head-to-head for the Best Serial Drama Performance award. After the Australian soap’s tearful goodbye, does the cast of Neighbours have a shot at winning Serial Drama? They have some stiff competition in EastEnders, Coronation Street, and Emmerdale.

The Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award is up for grabs, with programmes like Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, Taskmaster, The Graham Norton Show, and I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! vying for the honour; daytime contenders include The Chase and Loose Women.

Naturally, Ant & Dec are favourites to win the award for greatest TV hosts once again. If you wish to break the comedy duo’s record of 20 consecutive wins, you can choose between Alison Hammond, Bradley Walsh, and Graham Norton.

Now that voting has begun, the decision is in your hands. If you want to know how to vote, keep reading…

Who Will Be Performing and Appearing at The NTA 2022

If you’re planning on attending the big event, make sure to check back for updates on the list of attendees and the schedule of performances. Robbie Williams‘s first performance was supposed to be a tribute to his 25 years as a solo artist. Robbie, however, will not be available on the revised date.

Sam Ryder, who placed second at Eurovision 2022 in May, will be performing his megahit “Space Man” at Wembley Stadium.

Sam declares, “This year, instead of sitting on the couch and watching the NTAs, I will actually perform!” I can’t wait to spend the evening singing my heart out and praising the achievements of so many wonderful people in the television industry!

As Lewis puts it, “Like a worrisome rash growing on your nether regions after an ill-advised one-night fling, I’m back and I shall torment you until you give me the attention I so need! I can’t wait to perform my brand new single “Forget Me” live at this year’s NTAs, but I can’t help but wonder if the whole thing is a plot to question me about my TV licence. Please listen, because if my music bombs, I won’t be asked back!
