The Worst-Rated Animated Show, “Velma,” Is Rumoured to Be Getting a Second Season Despite Criticism!

Quality alone isn’t everything in some cases. Despite having the lowest IMDb ratings of any animated series, HBO Max has somehow decided to air a second season of Velma.

Her team is presently working on Velma Season 2, according to Warner Bros. Television Group Chairman and CEO Channing Dungey, who originally revealed the news in an interview with Deadline. Although there hasn’t been a formal announcement, a source for IGN confirms that work is in fact moving forward.

The television show debuted to conflicting reviews and harsh fan criticism. It presently has a dismal 42% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and finished its 10-episode run over the weekend of February 11 as the third-worst-rated show of all time on IDMb. Despite everything, Velma still managed to draw large audiences, surpassing all other animated original shows on HBO Max in terms of viewership.

The popular children’s program was given an R-rated adult makeover, which contributes to some of its popularity. The series includes copious amounts of blood, gore, sexual scenes, and other types of explicit content, much to Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, which turns the beloved bear into a serial killer. Although it doesn’t perform well in the ratings, it does well in terms of viewer attention.

Naturally, as Velma Season 2 is still in the planning stages, there are still some story details to be ironed out. The Scooby-Doo gang member Velma Dinkley is trying to solve a murder related to the disappearance of her mother, as well as the numerous murders of teenage girls in the neighborhood, in the first season of the movie. The cast is anticipated to return for the sequel, so it will probably pick up after the killer is revealed at the end of the first season.
