20th Century Studios has unveiled the official trailer for Darby and the Dead, its forthcoming supernatural teen comedy starring Riele Downs and Auli I Cravalho. The video features the titular high school student who has the ability to see ghosts. The film will be available for streaming on December 2, exclusively on Hulu.
Silas Howard directed Darby and the Dead, which was adapted from a script by Becca Greene and Wenonah Wilms. Along with Derek Luke and Tony Danza, the movie stars Riele Downs, Auli I Cravalho, Chosen Jacobs, Asher Angel, and Wayne Knight.

Darby Harper (Downs), who had a near-death experience as a young child, develops the capacity to see the dead. The synopsis states that as a result, she develops an introverted personality, isolates herself from her high school peers, and prefers to spend her time counseling lonesome spirits who still have unresolved issues on earth.

That all changes, however, when Capri (Cravalho), the leader of the most exclusive group at school, tragically perishes in a strange hair-straightening accident, obviating the need for her planned Sweet 17 party. However, Capri begs Darby to step in from the other side and persuade Capri’s pals to carry out the party’s original plans. Darby must leave her self-imposed isolation and recreate herself in order to assuage the undead diva’s fury. By doing this, she is able to rediscover her delight in the living world.
Adam Saunders and Eddie Rubin produced Darby and the Dead, and Michele Weisler and Mac Hendrickson served as executive producers.
