Owen Wilson’s Introduction to Painting Channels Bob Ross!

IFC Films shared the first look for its upcoming film Paint on Thursday, teasing Owen Wilson taking on the role of a painter that looks very familiar to an iconic one we all know.

actors Lucy Freyer, Stephen Root, Lusia Strus, Ciara Renee, Michaela Watkins, and Wendi McLendon-Covey. The movie, which was written and directed by Brit McAdams, centers on Carl Nargle, played by Wilson, a painter for public television.

See the first image, in which Wilson plays a role that is strikingly similar to that of the renowned artist Bob Ross: According to the official synopsis for the upcoming movie, Owen Wilson plays Carl Nargle, Vermont’s top public television painter who believes he has it all: a signature perm, a custom van, and fans watching his every move. However, a younger, better artist ends up stealing everything (and everyone) Carl loves.
