Blumhouse’s High-Tech Killer Doll Is Introduced in The M3GAN Trailer

The official trailer for M3GAN, the forthcoming horror film from Blumhouse and James Wan’s The Conjuring world, has been published by Universal Pictures. The movie is slated to premiere on January 13.

The young girl in TheM3GANtrailer recently lost her parents in a car accident, making her unprepared Aunt Gemma the new caretaker. Gemma introduces her to a sophisticated life-like doll that is programmed to defend her at all costs in an effort to cheer her up.

Akela Cooper (Malignant, The Nun 2) wrote the screenplay for M3GAN, which Gerard Johnstone (Housebound) directed from a scenario by James Wan and Akela Cooper. Allison Williams, Violet McGraw, Ronny Chieng, Brian Jordan Alvarez, Lori Dungey, and Stephane Garneau-Monten are among the actors who appear in the movie.

The summary describes M3GAN as “a miracle of artificial intelligence, a lifelike doll engineered to be a child’s greatest friend and a parent’s greatest ally.” “M3GAN, created by creative toy company roboticist Gemma, can listen, watch, and learn as she transforms into a child’s companion, teacher, playmate, and guardian.

Gemma is uncertain and unprepared to be a parent when she unexpectedly takes in her 8-year-old orphaned niece Cady (Violet McGraw, The Haunting of Hill House). Gemma makes the unthinkable decision to pair her M3GAN prototype with Cady in an effort to solve both challenges while under extreme pressure at work.

Producing the movie are Wan and Jason Blum. Williams, Mark Katchur, Ryan Turek, Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Adam Hendricks, and Greg Gilreath are the executive producers.
