James Gunn Blasts “Green Lantern” Cancellation Rumors As “Fake News” On HBO Max Series!
” In his second month as the new co-chairman of DC Studios, James Gunnis has done nothing but correct the record. The most recent is a rumour about the Green Lantern television series that HBO Max ordered.
The Gunn quickly denounced the claim as “false” after it appeared in a publication that the show had been cancelled and would no longer proceed.
A day earlier, producer Greg Berlanti also refuted the rumour.
Since 2019, the Green Lantern series has been under development, with Arrow producer Berlanti at the helm. Guy Gardner and Alan Scott, played by actors Finn Wittrock and Jeremy Irvine, were originally supposed to be the show’s main characters. The programme will instead centre on John Stewart, one of DC’s first Black superheroes and one of the longest-serving Green Lanterns, according to a report from October of this year.

Fans of Green Lantern will be pleased to hear this, but those of Black Adam and Henry Cavill’s Superman will not be so fortunate. Cavill is no longer Superman, and Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam 2 has been declared dead. The Flash movie’s appearance by the actor has likewise been cut.
Fans should anticipate a lot of cancellations, headlines, and rumours as Gunn and Peter Safran continue to create the future of DC, with Gunn holding down the fort. The DC leader strives to put the story and DC characters first at every turn, even if he is aware that his choices won’t please everyone.
