Emancipation Trailer: Thriller Drama Starring Will Smith and Directed by Antoine Fuqua!

Apple Original Films has dropped the official Emancipation trailer for Antoine Fuqua s upcoming thriller drama that stars Will Smith as a runaway slave.

The video demonstrates a man’s willingness to accept many hazards in order to survive in order to earn his freedom. The movie will premiere on Apple TV+ on December 9, two days after it opens in theatres on December 2.

Antoine Fuqua is the film’s director, working from a screenplay by William N. Collage. Ben Foster, Charmaine Bingwa, Gilbert Owuor, Mustafa Shakir, Steven Ogg, Grant Harvey, Ronnie Gene Bivens, Jayson Warner Smith, Jabbar Lewis, Michael Luwoye, Aaron Moten, and Imani Pullum will also be appearing with Smith.

The synopsis, it portrays the inspiring tale of Peter (Smith), a slave who frees himself by using his cunning, unshakeable faith, and great love for his family to elude ruthless hunters and the Louisiana swamps on his journey to freedom. The 1863 photographs of Whipped Peter taken during a Union Army medical checkup that was initially published in Harper’s Weekly served as the basis for the movie. One picture, dubbed “The Scourged Back,” which depicts Peter’s bare back being damaged by a beating from his masters, eventually helped to increase popular resistance to slavery.
