Disenchanted will be made available on the streaming service on Friday, November 18 (sign up for Disney+ here). Adam Shankman is in charge of directing the follow-up, which is based on Bill Kelly’s original characters from Enchanted. The original cast is back, including Amy Adams, who has been nominated for six Academy Awards, as Giselle, a married woman living in Monroeville who is hopelessly romantic and eternally optimistic
Giselle’s husband, Robert Philip, is played by Patrick Dempsey of Grey’s Anatomy; Prince Edward from Andalasia is played by James Marsden of X-Men; and Nancy Tremaine, a former dressmaker who is now married to Prince Edward, is played by I According to the narrative, Disenchanted portrays the much-anticipated return of Giselle, the banished princess from the Andalasia of fairy tales who met her true Prince Charming in divorce attorney Robert Philip. 15 years later, Morgan, their teenage daughter, and Giselle relocate to the Monroeville suburb where she must balance the difficulties of a new house while learning what happily ever after really means to her and her new family.
Maya Rudolph, Kolton Stewart, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jayma Mays, and Oscar Nunez join them as new cast members, while Gabriella Baldacchino debuts as Robert Philip’s grown-up daughter, Morgan.
Since 2010, the movie has been under development, and Anne Fletcher was formerly attached to direct. Kevin Lima was the director of the first movie, which made nearly $340 million worldwide against an alleged $85 million budget. Additionally, it was warmly appreciated by reviewers and viewers, earning the movie two nominations for Golden Globes, including Best Actress for Amy Adams.
