Death Note: Movie a Producer and Scriptwriter Have Been Hired for The Netflix Series!
The executive producer and writer for the Netflix live-action Death Note adaptation have been identified. Deadline reports that Halia Abdel-Meguid has joined Netflix as the executive producer and writer of Death Note.
Abdel-Meguid is stated to be an expert speaker of Japanese and a “longtime fan of the manga and anime series.” The forthcoming live-action Netflix adaptation is a project of Upside Down, Matt Duffer, and Ross Duffer’s new production business.
A couple of Abdel-other Meguid’s projects are The Devil in the White City for Hulu and the Netflix adaptation of Stephen King and Peter Straub’s novel The Talisman, both of which are produced by the Duffer Brothers. Abdel-Meguid studied in London before beginning her screenwriting career, and she earned her degree from the American Film Institute in 2018.
A Death Note live-action film was released by Netflix in 2017. Nat Wolff played Light Turner, while Keith Stanfield played L. The film was directed by Adam Wingard. The screenplay was written by Charles Parlapanides, Vlas Parlapanides, and Jeremy Slater. Deadline claims that the impending live-action adaptation will be “an altogether different take on the original IP,” despite its earlier publication.

The shonen manga series Death Note was created by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. From 2003 to 2006, the manga was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. Meanwhile, the 2006 airing of the anime version was created by the animation company Madhouse. There were 37 episodes in the whole series. Death Note has seen four live-action film adaptations as of this writing.
