Daniel “Dafran” Francesca, a former Overwatch League player and current Twitch streamer, has come under fire for his remarks about the sexual assault allegations made against his former colleague Jay “Sinatraa” Won.
Sinatraa’s ex-girlfriend Cleo ‘cle0he Hernandez made abuse allegations against the Sentinels Valorant star on March 9. The document included screenshots and an audio clip.
In a tweet, Dafran defended this year’s Overwatch League MVP. This defence was made before both Sentinels and Riot Games suspended Sinatraa pending the results of internal investigations into the allegations against him.

Their plan is to f*** you once they jebait or photoshop evidence in your favour. There’s no proof she is, but it’s possible. In other words, everyone has been looking for an excuse to stop watching Sinatraa.
Dafran, Sinatraa’s pre-OWL Selfless Gaming teammate, later indicated that the alleged victim’s audio recording could have been misconstrued.
I’ve been known to slap and choke ladies in bed since I know that’s what they enjoy (and maybe because it’s what I enjoy as well). What if that’s misconstrued?” he asked.

Several prominent streamers and esports individuals, such as the former general manager of the Washington Justice, Analynn “bawling” Dang, called out Dafran for his comments.
The absence of empathy is terrifying, as Dang pointed out. Think about what you’re telling the world when you say things like, “It’s alright to not believe women and just classify them as girls.”
Another voice, World of Warcraft streamer Asmongold, jumped in, noting that while Dafran’s viewpoint was “noble,” it was “expressed boorishly.”
“It’s upsetting to see so many people take it as an occasion to trash on Dafran for lousy phrasing rather than support the victim,” he continued.
When former Overwatch pro-Anthony “Harbleu” Ballo and QuarterJade got involved, things quickly escalated.
Francesca responded to QuarterJade’s “literally shut the f* up” with an “f* you,” while Harbleu called Dafran childish.
The Luminosity streamer yelled, “This is the kind of idiotic take I’d expect from a 17-18-year-old.” As long as you maintain the mindset of a teenager, I have no doubt that life will treat you well. Could you give farming another shot? To what extent did the effort seem too great?
Dafran stated that Ballo exhibited “passive-aggressive” behaviour.
A day after the charges were originally made public, Sinatra finally commented. He disputed abuse allegations in a short TwitLonger, saying he “never assaulted her in any way.”
