Antony Starr Controversy: Actor Antony Starr (of “The Boys”) was detained for assault in Spain while filming a film directed by Guy Ritchie.

Antony Starr, who plays Homelander on Amazon’s superhero series The Boys, has gotten himself into some hot water when he was accused of punching a man on set in Alicante, Spain. Reportedly, the event occurred while filming. The actor was allegedly arrested after becoming involved in a bar fight at approximately 2 a.m. on Wednesday, as reported by the Spanish newspaper El Pa. He spent the night in jail.

Director Guy Ritchie is currently in Alicante filming an action thriller starring Antony Starr. Also featured in the film is Jake Gyllenhaal. Bethuel Araujo, a 21-year-old Venezuelan cook and the second person involved in the fight, reportedly told police that Starr was “very inebriated” and “bumping and shoving” others.

Afterwords and blows were exchanged, Starr allegedly slapped Araujo with a glass, causing a cut above the Venezuelan’s eye that required four stitches. Starr is also suspected of injuring Araujo around this time. After the initial confrontation, Starr allegedly told Araujo, “You don’t know who you’ve messed with.

According to a report in the local media, Araujo said that he could not place the actor. You have no idea who I am or what you’ve been up to, and you never will. The two continued their exchange of blows outside until the cops arrived and apprehended Starr.

Considering that Starr’s legal troubles occurred during the show’s third season, which has concluded, it’s doubtful that they will have any impact on the show moving forward. Amazon has yet to acquire the rights to air the upcoming fourth season of this program.
