According to festival organisers, American actor Julianna Moore will preside over the jury at the September 2022 Venice Film Festival.
At the 11-day festival on Venice’s opulent Lido, Julianne Moore, who won an Oscar for best actress for the 2014 film “Still Alice,” will preside over a jury made up of six people.
This year’s festival jury will be heavily dominated by directors, including Mariano Cohn of Argentina, Leonardo Di Costanzo of Italy, Rodrigo Sorogoyen of Spain, and Audrey Diwan of France.
Diwan’s film “The Event,” which deals with back-alley abortion, won the Golden Lion at Venice the previous year.
Leila Hatami, an Iranian actress, and Kazuo Ishiguro, a British and Japanese screenwriter, are also on the jury.
The Venice Film Festival is one of the most renowned and oldest in the world, competing with Cannes and Berlin. The 79th edition’s dates are set for August 31–September 10.
