The Olympic Volleyball Player Kim Glass Describes a Violent Attack by A Homeless Man in Los Angeles
Kim Glass, a former volleyball Olympian, has disclosed that she was attacked on Friday in Los Angeles. The 37-year-old athlete stated in a series of videos broadcast on her Instagram Stories that she was struck in the face by a metal object that a homeless guy threw at her as she was leaving lunch with a friend.

In the videos, the fitness expert addresses the camera while displaying her damaged and swollen eye on one side and a gash on the bridge of her nose on the other. Kim Glass starts out by saying that she was having lunch with a friend in downtown Los Angeles when she observed the man holding something in his hand.
“This homeless man raced up with something in his hand, he was across the street from the car, and he just stared at me with some really angry looks,” “she claims. “” A huge metal bolt, like a pipe, hit me right here,” she tells the camera as she gestures toward her wounds. “And as I went to go tell my friend ,”I think something is wrong with him” and “I fear he’s going to hit the car,” before I knew it, a big metal bolt, like pipe, hit me right here.”
It all simply occurred so quickly, she says. He wasn’t even close to me because he basically threw it at me from the street. Kind of knocked me for a loop.
Bystanders caught the man, according to Glass, and held him down until the police and an ambulance arrived. The athlete assured her that her vision should be unimpaired.
She tells the camera, “Right now, it seems like my vision will be OK, and I got some really wonderful stitching from a doctor.” Glass continued by saying that she does also have many fractures.
The Olympian broke down in tears as she expressed her gratitude to her loved ones for their support. Glass also cautioned her followers to exercise caution and safety while out and about and to be aware of the mental health epidemic.
The suspected assailant was detained, arrested, and lodged in jail without bail on charges of felony assault with a deadly weapon, according to ESPN.
On the U.S. Women’s Indoor Volleyball team, Glass won a silver medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
