Aldridge went on to work as a concert singer, piano accompanist, and voice teacher once she finished her studies. Her concert career was cut short by a throat condition, so she resorted to teaching and published around thirty songs in the romantic parlor style and instrumental music in different styles between 1907 and 1925. She taught the children of London’s Black middle-class, including the daughter of John Barbour-James, Frank Alcindor, the son of Dr. John Alcindor, and Alice Evans, the sister of musician Samuel Coleridge-Taylor.
