Jujutsu Kaisen’s first season was a huge success, and anticipation for Season 2 will only grow. Currently, the sequel’s July 2023 debut date means that fans will have to wait a little longer to return to the world of sorcerers and curses.

The information was released in a character introduction film that provided a first glimpse at the main characters, including a youthful Suguru Geto (Takahiro Sakurai/Lex Lang) and Satoru Gojo (Yuichi Nakamura/Kaiji Tang). The two courses of the series, the first of which adapts the “Gojo’s Past (Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu)” arc and the second of which focuses on the “Shibuya Incident” arc, will each last approximately three months.

The Jujutsu Kaisen anime movie depicted the two as close friends and great sorcerers in the past; season 2 looks to continue this dynamic. A meeting with Ieiri Shoko (Aya End/Ryan Bartley) brings the group together with Toji Zenin, the notorious killer known as the Sorcerer Killer.

The “Shibuya Incident” arc, on the other hand, returns the action to Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and Nobara Kugisaki’s presence and acts as a direct continuation of the first season’s events. To prevent Gojo from being sealed, the main cast is required to fight a coalition of cursed spirits and curse practitioners.

Gege Akutami wrote and drew Jujutsu Kaisen. Since March 2018, the ongoing work has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. In October 2020, MAPPA will release an anime version of the work. The first volume of the second season’s first book, which is expected to be released in 2023, has the following plot summary, according to Viz Media:
